Mediator Release Test, often called MRT, is a food intolerance test that can help you identify your level of food sensitivity to different kinds of food. Different from food allergy that might cause immediate and severe conditions, food intolerance causes inflammatory long lasting problems if you are not aware of it. Some conditions associated with food sensitivity include migraine, depression, insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, urticaria, vomiting, diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome. MRT is the most accurate and comprehensive food sensitive blood test that measures your body’s inflammatory response to 170 foods and chemicals. Based on the result, our CLT (Certified LEAP Therapist) will guide you through a LEAP (Lifestyle, Eating, and Performance) process with a personalized elimination diet. The conditions that you’re experiencing can be reduced in 14 days.
Who will benefit from it?
If you are experiencing Inflammatory symptoms, or if you want to prevent those frustrating symptoms, you can do the Mediator Release Test. The test can help you identify the best foods to eat and help you eliminate the chronic uncomfortableness that you are going through.
Scientific Background
Food intolerance is an inflammatory response to foods that you are sensitive to. The reaction is directly related to the mediator released from the white blood cell. The release of cytokines, histamine, leukotrienes, prostaglandins, etc., from neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils and lymphocytes leads to the uncomfortable symptoms. When the white blood cells react to a certain sensitive food, they will release mediators and therefore shrink in size. When we measure the ratio of changes of the white blood cells, we can determine the inflammation reaction to certain foods.
How to do the test?
A MRT testing kit will be given by DaNutri. With the testing kit, you can go to a blood drawing center to collect a blood sample. Use this link to locate the draw center around you. They will send the sample to the lab for analysis. A comprehensive report will be given to you within 7 days. Our dietitian will discuss the results and guide you through the LEAP program.

Resting metabolic rate (also called RMR) is the rate at which your body burns energy when it is at complete rest. When at rest, your body needs a certain amount of calories to keep it functioning at all times. The result of the test shows the calories that are needed to be consumed in order to maintain your weight. We can utilize the information to develop personalized nutrition and activity plans to achieve weight management and nutrition goals. And as your metabolic rate changes as you lose weight, re-measurement during weight loss allows you to avoid weight loss plateaus by altering your nutrition and exercise plan to reflect changes in your body.
Who will benefit from it?
Individuals who are seeking weight loss, maintain weight, are diagnosed with diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure or other weight related conditions will benefit this test.
Scientific Background
Our metabolic rate determines how many calories our body burns each day. In order to lose weight, we need to consume fewer calories than we burn each day. Since metabolic rate is an essential component to weight management, it is important to assess your metabolic rate to establish your daily calorie goals. We use an FDA-Approved Indirect Calorimeter that accurately measures oxygen consumption (VO2) to determine resting metabolic rate. This metabolic rate test has an accuracy of 1 - 3% when compared to other metabolic carts.

The Omega-3 Index is a test that measures the amount of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) in red blood cell membranes. 95.7% of American do not get enough EPA and DHA. Tracking these numbers can help you optimize them for your health. People who take this test pay more attention to their omega 3 consumption, either through food or supplements. Everyone responds differently to lifestyle changes so the only way to know how your blood levels respond is to test.
Who will benefit from it?
Individuals who want to achieve optimal health; lessen the chances of cardiovascular diseases are encouraged to take this test so that they can be aware of their omega 3 percentage.
Scientific Background
Omega 3 Index blood test measures the percentage of EPA and DHA in the red blood cell fatty acids. EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) has the ability to lower triglycerides, helps maintain proper function of your heart and is an anti-inflammatory. DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is important for brain development. Both are essential in the human body because they are needed for repairing and producing cells. The range of a normal Omega-3 Index is between 8% - 12%. Individuals with a higher Omega-3 Index are less at risk to developing heart disease, loss of cognitive function, bipolar disorder, depression and age related macular degeneration.
How to do the test?
The dietitian will collect your blood sample. After, we will send the blood sample to the lab for analysis. All that’s required from you is a few drops of blood drawn from a simple finger prick. A report will be given to you in 2 - 3 weeks. Our dietitian will discuss results with you. The test must be done at DaNutri office.

What is it?
Mother’s Milk DHA test measures the level of DHA in your breast milk as DHA is an important component of a baby’s developing brain. DHA levels in breast milk changes based on how much we eat. This test can ensure Mother’s Milk DHA levels meet the needs of the infant’s growing brain.
Who will benefit from it?
Mothers and their baby will benefit this test. As a mother you will not only be aware of your DHA levels but it is also a big step forward to helping your baby grow and achieve optimal health.
Scientific Background
DHA, the most abundant omega-3 fatty acid in the brain and retina, is a particularly important factor in the first two years of a child’s development. DHA assists in brain and eye development and function, and supports healthy heart function. DHA levels in breast milk, like blood, go up and down mainly based on how much we eat. It is recommended that lactating women consume at least 200 mg of DHA per day and mother’s milk DHA levels of at least 0.32% to meet the needs of the infant’s growing brain. However, the average intake for women in their 20s-30s in the United States is only about 55 mg per day. Since Americans tend to have low DHA levels, it is reasonable to assume that their breast milk levels are low as well.
If your DHA levels are optimum with your first testing, and you maintain the same health status, diet, and/or supplements, then once is enough. However, if your levels are low, and you decide to increase your intake of DHA (via fish or fish oil pills), then you can take the test as soon as two weeks after your previous test. It only takes two weeks to change the levels of DHA in your breast milk!
How to do the test?
Our dietitian will collect your breast milk sample at DaNutri office. You will dab a drop of breast milk from the breast or a bottle onto the milk collection card that is included in the package. The milk on the collection card needs to be dry. After this, they will send the milk collection to the lab for analysis. A report will be given to you in 2 - 3 weeks. The dietitian will discuss results with you. The test must be done at DaNutri office.
It’s best to measure your breast milk DHA levels about 2-4 weeks after delivering your baby. DHA levels change naturally from the breast milk in the first few days after delivery (called “colostrum”) to the later breast milk (“mature milk”). Measuring your DHA breast milk level within the first month of breast feeding will allow you to make the necessary changes to your diet if you have low DHA levels.

What is Celiac Disease?
Celiac disease is one of the most under diagnosed diseases in the world, and yet affects almost 3 million Americans. It is a condition where the absorptive surface of the small intestine is damaged by a substance called gluten. This damage leads results in an inability of the body to absorb nutrients which are necessary for a healthy body.
Who will benefit from it?
As a genetic disease, celiac disease could be inherited. Those with family members that have celiac disease are at higher risk. Someone suffering from autoimmune disease, such as thyroid disease or type 1 diabetes, is at higher risk for celiac disease. Someone with preexisting genetic disorders, such as Down Syndrome or Turner Syndrome, is at higher risk for celiac disease.
Scientific Background
A celiac-specific biomarker is a measurable indicator of your body's response or condition to gluten.
We utilized the screening gold standard, the highly sensitive Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) Antibody, or tTG-IgA biomarker. For an even more comprehensive view of your results, we also screen for three additional biomarkers: tTG-lgG, DGP-IgG and DGP-IgA.
How to do the test?
Use the pain-free lancet by pressing it against the tip of your finger and press the button. Collect the drops of blood from your finger into the collection device. Secure your sample, and mailing it back to the lab with the provided return label. Your results are available online for review within 5 days.

Scientific Background
The InBody Scale is a machine that measures body composition through a method called bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). First used in the 1960s, the BIA method sends a small alternating current through the body that allows for highly accurate measurements of a person’s body fat as well as water, lean mass, overall weight, and more. BIA is painless, quick, non-invasive, and doesn’t pose any risk of side effects.
